EPS Korea Section was established under Government of Nepal, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Department of Foreign Employment on 26th July 2007 (7th Shrawan 2064), by the decision of ministerial level agreement (MOU) to ease the process of sending Nepali Workers to Korea to resolve distortion in the labour market caused by Industrial Trainee System(launched in Dec. 1993 and 18 sending countries). It is Government to Government (G to G) system that ensure safe migration. Government Involvement for sending workers to Korea provides timely, efficiently, transparently, reliable, sustainable, continuous and economy selection and departure service to the job seekers.

EPS Korea Section opens throughout the year with no weekly and public holidays
to ease and fasten the departure process. To strengthen basic human rights of foreign workers and prohibit unjust discrimination against them, Korean Government strictly follow the following labour law to all workers i.e. Local workers and Foreign workers:

Employment in Korea has been an attractive destination for Nepalese workers because of safe and high valued monetary employment. Currently more than 40000 Nepalese are working in Korea, and are earning more than 1 lakh rupees per month only investing around 1 lakh onetime expenses while going to Korea. EPS Korea Section serves thousands of Nepalese people. Department of Foreign Employment, EPS in co-operation with South Korean Government has created an environment where thousands of Nepali citizens can apply to get employment permit in South Korean companies each year.
Job Seekers who have passed the following criteria are beneficiaries of the EPS system:
– who are aged between 18 to 39.
– who have passed the designated Test of Proficiency in Korean (EPS-TOPIK)
– who have no record of previous illegal stay in Korea.
– who have passed medical check-ups
– who are not restricted for departure from home country
– who have no criminal record
Selection of workers from different countries is based upon:
-Preference of Employers
– Rate of Illegal workers
-Labour Contract Cancellation rate
-Public and IT Infrastructure
– Government Management Capability etc.
